Micro Crochet Hook and Thread Pairing Guide
Why thread choice matters
In micro crochet, the hook and thread need to work together. A fine hook can help create small, clean stitches, but the final result also depends on the thread thickness, twist, and the tension in your hand.
When the hook and thread are well matched, the stitch movement feels smoother and the finished piece looks cleaner. If the thread is too thick for the hook, it can make the work feel tight and put extra pressure on the fine tip. It may also cause the hook to bend or break, damage the thread, strain your hand, and make the finished piece look less neat and delicate.

A gentle starting point
If you are just starting, 0.2 mm with Size 60 or Size 80 lace thread is a practical place to begin. For smaller and more refined details, 0.1 mm works best with very fine thread such as Size 100 or Size 120.
A small note about white thread
White thread can be a lovely starting point. It is easy to see your stitches clearly, and it also gives you room to explore dyeing or custom colors later.
